★★★★★

We love having Diverse sessions. They really help children regulate and improve engagement in learning following the intervention. Children’s SEND needs have been well met, particularly for pupils with SEMH and SLCN. The sessions were also observed during our 2024 Ofsted inspection and were highly thought of by the inspection team. I highly recommend Diverse.”

How our movement-based SEND intervention works

Diverse is an evidence-informed movement-based SEND intervention that helps primary schools support pupils across the four broad areas of SEND through structured physical activity.

Schools train existing staff to become Diverse Practitioners, enabling them to deliver engaging sessions that support communication, emotional regulation, confidence, cognition and physical development.

Supporting All Four Areas of SEND

Diverse uses structured physical activity to support progress across all four broad areas of SEND identified in the SEND Code of Practice.

Communication & Interaction

Develops communication, social interaction and confidence through structured partner and small-group activities. Sessions encourage turn-taking, listening, following instructions and expressive language in a supportive environment.

Social, Emotional & Mental Health

Supports emotional regulation, resilience and positive wellbeing through movement-based activities that reduce stress and build self-confidence. Pupils learn to manage emotions, work cooperatively and experience success.

Cognition & Learning

Improves attention, working memory and executive functioning by combining moderate physical activity with purposeful learning challenges. Activities promote focus, problem-solving and the confidence to persevere.

Physical & Sensory

Develops coordination, balance, movement confidence and sensory regulation through carefully adapted physical activities. Sessions help pupils engage more successfully in learning and everyday school life.
